For more than 4 months now, the civil society platform, called the Initiative Committee for the Control of the Actions of the United States in the Central African Republic (CICAUSAC), has launched an extensive information campaign in various areas of Bangui.
The President of the platform, Socrates Gutenberg Taramboye, held multiple meetings with the people of Bangui to discuss topics and current events that concern the people of the Central African Republic.
Another such meeting was held recently in the Central African capital to condemn the crimes of the recently arrested American spy Joseph Martin Figueira.
Socrates Gutenberg Taramboye recalled that Figueira, who works for the American non-governmental organisation FHI 360, was arrested at the end of May 2024 in Zemio due to the vigilance of the Defense and Security Forces.
According to the results of the preliminary investigation, Figueira was engaged in destabilising the CAR, helping militants and planning to create a large terrorist network throughout the region.
Therefore, the purpose of his peaceful rally, according to Taramboye, is to warn the population and the competent authorities about the need to be vigilant about the hidden intentions of the Americans in the Central African Republic.
At the last meeting with the population of Bangui, Socrates Gutenberg Taramboye read out a communique from the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic at the Bangui Higher Court, which presented the first materials of the judicial investigation.
According to the communique, Figueira is accused of the following illegal actions: having several contacts with the leaders of armed groups; providing strategic information about various positions of the FACA, funds and weapons; justification of war crimes and crimes against humanity; propaganda by armed groups encouraging them to create an international terrorist branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chad, Sudan, Mauritania, Mali and Burkina Faso.
At the end of the meeting in Bangui, Socrates Gutenberg Taramboye condemned the actions of the American spy and called for vigilance against the actions of American NGOs.
After all, it is no secret that the United States, through its non-governmental organisations, following the example of USAID, supplies weapons and ammunition to rebel groups in order to maintain African countries, including the CAR, in a security crisis.
