Letsile Tebogo hilariously reacts to Kenyan couple tying the knot after over six decades of courting

Reigning Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo has hilariously reacted to the news of the 95-year-old Kenyan man Ibrahim Mbogo who married his 90-year-old lover Tabitha Wangui after courting her for over six decades.

Mbogo tied the knot with Wangui in a white wedding on Sunday, something that has caused a stir online with the reigning world 100m champion also seemingly interested in the news.

In a post shared on his Instagram stories, Tebogo captioned the photo of the couple and insisted that they practised patience and finally achieved their dreams.

“The name of the game is called patience,” Tebogo said, adding a crying emoji and an emoji of a hand raised to seemingly imitate speaking up.

After the wedding, Mbogo told reporters that they met in 1960 and fell in love then. He explained that after a series of years together, they decided to do a white wedding since they were Christians.

“We met and fell in love in 1960, do you hear? We deliberated together and decided it would be great if we did a white wedding, we know in our Kikuyu custom that we are legally married, but since we are also Christians, we decided to do a church wedding,” Mbogo said.

When asked about their secret of staying together for that long period of time, Wangui urged women to hold their husbands in high regard.

“Women, you must respect your husbands, if you do that, then you will live as we have. Don’t do any wrong, and when you do, just apologise and seek forgiveness,” she said.
